The actual length of the string for recurve bows will be 4″ shorter than the AMO length of the bow, by measuring the bow with unstrung, from string groove to another string groove, you could get the actual sizes. By twisting the string could change the brace heights.

INCREASE AND DECREASE BRACE HEIGHT

You can increase and decrease the brace height very easily, all you have to do is, add twist to increase the brace height and remove twist to decrease the brace height.

If you shoot a recurve bow, the string length is usually 4 inches shorter than the bow length. If you shoot a longbow, the string length is usually 3 inches shorter than the bow length.
